Solec nad Wisłą is a small town in east-central Poland's Masovian Voivodeship, in Lipsko County, picturesquely situated on the high left bank of the Vistula River near the mouth of the Krępianka River amid scenic ravines.

First documented in 1136 in the Bull of Gniezno as a property of the Gniezno Archbishop, it received town rights around 1370 under King Casimir the Great, who built a defensive castle to guard the river crossing, spurring its growth as a 15th-16th century salt trade hub with royal privileges for fairs under Sigismund I.

Expanded into a Renaissance residence and monastery by Krzysztof Zbaraski in 1615-1627, it was nearly obliterated during the Swedish Deluge of 1655-1660, later annexed by Austria in 1795, passed to Congress Poland in 1815, lost town status in 1869 for supporting the January Uprising, and regained it in 2021.
