Stretching about 3 kilometers along the Arabian Sea, it is one of the most popular beaches in northern Konkan and a favored weekend getaway from Mumbai and Pune, approximately 4.5 hours from Pune and 150 kilometers from Mumbai. The beach features striking white or black sand coastline (sources vary), beautiful palm groves, mango plantations, and gentle winds that create a serene, tranquil atmosphere away from crowded cities.

It is renowned for being very safe and well-maintained, with shallow waters ideal for swimming, especially during low tides, and regular cleaning plus benches installed throughout for visitors to enjoy the seascape.
