St James's Park, located in central London, is the oldest and one of the most famous Royal Parks, covering about 23 hectares (57 acres). It sits at the southern edge of the St James's area and is surrounded by iconic landmarks including Buckingham Palace to the west, The Mall to the north, Horse Guards Parade to the east, and Birdcage Walk to the south.

The park's history dates back to the 1530s when King Henry VIII enclosed it as a deer park. Over the centuries, it has been shaped by monarchs and transformed into a scenic urban oasis featuring a picturesque lake with two islands that serve as wildlife sanctuaries, home to ducks, geese, swans, and notably pelicans — birds introduced in 1664 as a gift to King Charles II.
