Strzygi is a village in north-central Poland's Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, Brodnica County, within Gmina Osiek along provincial road 560, about 16 km southwest of Brodnica and historically part of the Dobrzyń Land between the Vistula and Drwęca rivers.
Once the seat of the Starorypin commune during the Second Polish Republic and later its own commune in the 1950s, it boasts a church first documented in 1407 with a 16th-century tower expanded under Duchess Anna Vasa around 1620, plus a failed 1552 city-founding attempt by King Sigismund II Augustus granted to Elżbieta Serbska, leaving traces like a market square near the church.
Today home to around 475 residents amid rural farmland, it preserves its modest parish heritage without notable fortifications or castles, focusing on local agricultural traditions.
