Suchań is a small town in northwestern Poland's West Pomeranian Voivodeship, in Stargard County, about 21 km east of Stargard and 52 km east of Szczecin, serving as the seat of an urban-rural gmina with around 1,400 urban residents amid agricultural lands.

Part of early Poland since 967 with a 10th-century Slavic stronghold, it entered records in 1269 under Pomeranian dukes like Barnim I and likely gained a castle in the 13th century, which from 1312 to 1382 housed a Knights Hospitaller commandry until sold in 1545, with traces of its earthworks near modern buildings.

Recognized as a town in 1487 with a spindle-shaped historic layout of half-timbered houses, it shifted to Brandenburg in 1653, Prussia in 1701, and back to Poland post-1945, preserving its coat of arms with Griffin and Hospitaller symbols alongside 5th-century Bornholm settler traces.
