Taesongsan Funfair is a mid‑sized amusement park in the Taesong‑guyok district of Pyongyang, North Korea, located at the foot of Mount Taesong about 12 kilometers from the city center. Opened in 1977, it was one of the first large‑scale public funfairs in the country and covers about 180,000 square meters with roughly 16 mechanical rides, including a steel roller coaster called Kwansong Tancha, other older flat rides, and a water flume attraction that often runs only during peak attendance periods. The park functions as a key recreational spot for Pyongyang families, combining Soviet‑style fairground rides with green parkland and barbecue areas, and visitors typically access it through organized group tours with limited independent movement, giving it a distinctly closed‑society feel within the capital’s broader network of state‑managed leisure sites.
