Tamarama is a small, upscale beachside suburb on Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs known for a narrow, picturesque surf beach set between Bondi and Bronte and for being part of the popular Bondi–Bronte coastal walk.

The beach is compact and backed by a grassy park with picnic and playground facilities, and while it attracts a stylish crowd (locally nicknamed “Glamarama”), it also has strong currents and is considered one of New South Wales’ more dangerous surf beaches—yet the volunteer Tamarama Surf Life Saving Club has a long record of preventing fatalities.

Tamarama sits about 6–9 kilometres east of Sydney’s CBD, is mostly made up of apartments and higher-value homes on the cliffs with scenic ocean views, and benefits from nearby cafes and amenities in Bondi and Bronte. The local council maintains a management plan to protect Tamarama Park and Beach, and the area is a frequent site for public art and events such as Sculpture by the Sea during the exhibition season.
