Ubatuba is a coastal municipality on the northern shore of São Paulo state, known for a long stretch of Atlantic coastline backed by green mountains and dense Atlantic Forest, giving many of its beaches a wild, scenic feel.

Rather than a single “Ubatuba Beach,” the area offers more than 80–100 distinct beaches, ranging from busy urban strands with kiosks, boardwalks, and surf schools to quiet coves with clear, calmer water that feel more secluded and natural.

The region is often called the surf capital of São Paulo, with spots like Itamambuca and Praia Grande drawing surfers, while family-friendly beaches such as Lázaro, Toninhas, and Domingas Dias provide gentler waves, softer entry, and basic facilities.
