The Western Kentucky Botanical Garden in Owensboro, Kentucky, began in 1993 when a local Master Gardener’s class, supported by Dr. and Mrs. William Tyler, donated land to start the garden.
It has grown to feature thirteen themed gardens, including a large daylily display recognized by the American Hemerocallis Society, a rose garden, herb garden, children's garden, and a Japanese memorial garden. The garden also houses historic buildings such as an 1890s Country Doctor’s Office and WeatherBerry, an 1840 historic home which serves as the garden's welcome center.
The site offers educational programs, workshops, social events, and a reference library to serve the community. It provides a beautiful setting for weddings, gatherings, and nature enjoyment, with art installations, walking trails, and special events enhancing visitors' experiences. The garden is a cherished cultural and natural asset in the Owensboro area, dedicated to horticultural education and conservation.
