Yeomiji Botanic Garden
Seogwipo, South Korea, South Korea
Yeomiji Botanical Garden is a large, well-known plant garden located in the Jungmun Tourism Complex in Seogwipo on Jeju Island, South Korea, and it was opened on October 12, 1989 with the aim of showcasing tropical and global plants as a “beautiful land”. The site consists of two main parts: an indoor greenhouse botanical garden covering about 10,000–12,500 square meters under a distinctive sunflower-shaped roof, and an expansive outdoor garden spanning around 110,000 square meters, together displaying more than 2,300 plant species. Inside, visitors walk through six themed zones—a flower garden, water (aquatic) garden, desert (cactus) garden, jungle garden, tropical fruit garden, and a seasonal display area—where rare subtropical and exotic plants such as palms, fruit trees, baobabs, and carnivorous species are arranged in carefully designed landscapes, and an indoor observation tower on the upper floor offers panoramic views of Jungmun, nearby waterfalls, Mount Halla, and the coast.
