Zabrzeż is a village in southern Poland's Lesser Poland Voivodeship, within Nowy Sącz County and Gmina Łącko, located at the confluence of Kamienica Gorczańska and Dunajec rivers amid Beskid Wyspowy, Gorce, and Beskid Sądecki mountains.
Traces of a Lusatian culture hillfort from 1200–1000 BCE crown Babia Góra, with medieval resettlement in the 12th–13th centuries yielding a small defensive stone-walled castle and dry moat visible today; first mentioned in 1312, it belonged to Kraków dukes, then Queen Kinga, and later Stary Sącz's Poor Clares convent until the partitions.
Legends recall 17th-century Turkish POWs and bandits; now a fruit-growing holiday spot with a historic chapel and international whitewater kayaking course.
