Zamek w Gosławicach
Konin, Poland, Poland
Zamek w Gosławicach, a Gothic knightly castle in the Gosławice district of Konin, Greater Poland Voivodeship, Poland, was constructed between 1418 and 1426 by Poznań Bishop Andrzej Łaskarz alongside a matching Gothic church, forming a square-plan complex of two parallel residential buildings enclosed by defensive walls with corner turrets for artillery and a moat drawing water from nearby Lake Gosławskie. Designed as a lowland feudal stronghold adapted for firearms defense, it suffered destruction during the mid-17th-century Swedish Deluge, later passing to the Łącki and Kwilecki families in the 18th century before falling into ruin. Restored from 1978 to 1986, it now operates as a branch of the Konin Regional Museum, featuring preserved Gothic walls with gun ports and niches amid scenic lake surroundings.
