Aiguá is a small city in the Maldonado Department of Uruguay, founded in 1892, whose name means "running water" in the Guaraní language.

Located about 88 kilometers north of Maldonado, it sits on the east bank of the Arroyo de Aiguá stream amid rolling hills and scenic natural surroundings, including Uruguay's highest point, Cerro Catedral. The city was historically planned as a key stop on the route between Brazil and Montevideo, reflected in its Mediterranean-style pastel-colored houses and wide palm-lined avenues, which give it a charming, old-world feel.

Aiguá's economy has traditionally centered on agriculture and cattle ranching, and the community maintains a peaceful, close-knit atmosphere with cultural events like a local band performing in the plaza.
