Andělská Hora - castle ruins
Andělská Hora, Czechia, Czech Republic (Czechia)
Andělská Hora Castle is a romantic ruin perched on a rocky hill above the village of Andělská Hora, about 7 to 8 km southeast of Karlovy Vary in Czechia.
It was founded around the turn of the 14th and 15th centuries, likely by Boreš z Rýzmburka, as a defensive stronghold for local lands. The castle was badly damaged during the Thirty Years’ War, then abandoned after a fire in 1718, leaving the dramatic ruins seen today. It is now a popular walking destination and viewpoint with wide views over the surrounding countryside.
