Babrujsk Fortress (also spelled Bobruisk Fortress) is a large 19th-century military and fortification complex in the historic center of Babruysk in eastern Belarus, built between 1810 and 1836 on the orders of Emperor Alexander I to defend the western border of the Russian Empire against possible French invasion.

It was designed by military engineers such as K. Operman and later A. Staubert, originally comprising five bastions that were expanded to about 23, with earthen ramparts, stone and brick walls, water channels, and several fortified towers, and it was sometimes called the “elder sister” of the Brest Fortress for its size and strength.

The fortress was built over and incorporated parts of an older 14th-century wooden castle and a 18th-century Jesuit monastery, making it a hybrid of medieval and early modern military architecture, and in the early 19th century it was considered one of the most inaccessible and well-equipped fortresses in the Russian Empire and in Europe.
