Branč Castle Ruins are the remnants of a large 13th-century medieval fortress above the village of Podbranč in western Slovakia's Trnava Region, built around 1251-1261 by Master Aba from Hlohovec to protect vital trade roads from Hungary to Moravia through the Carpathians.

First mentioned in 1317, it served as an administrative hub and refuge against threats like Ottoman raids in 1663, changing hands among nobles including Matthew Csák, Sigismund of Luxembourg, Stibor of Stiborice, and infamous robber baron Pongrác of Svätý Mikuláš who used it for raids into the 15th century.

Abandoned early 18th century after Rákóczi's uprising and deliberate dismantling, the conserved walls, towers, and courtyards from Gothic and Renaissance phases now offer hikers panoramic views following partial 1968 restoration and ongoing archaeology since 1978.
