Castle Ruins Týřov
Karlova Ves (Rakovník District), Czechia, Czech Republic (Czechia)
Castle Ruins Týřov are the remains of a once-important royal castle in the Křivoklát area of central Czechia, above the Berounka River near Karlova Ves.
Built in the 13th century by King Václav I, it was one of the strongest castles of its time, but it gradually fell into ruin from the 16th century onward. Today the site is a romantic ruin in a forested landscape, with only parts of the tower and other masonry surviving. It is freely accessible and is popular with hikers for both its history and its natural setting.
