The Faculty of Agriculture at Cairo University in Giza, Egypt, was founded in 1889 during the reign of Khedive Tawfik and is one of the oldest agricultural schools in the Middle East.

Initially established in the old Giza Palace, it became part of Cairo University in 1935 as the first Faculty of Agriculture in Egypt and the region. The faculty offers undergraduate and graduate programs in agriculture and life sciences, emphasizing modern agricultural techniques, sustainable development, and rural life improvement.

It has awarded thousands of MSc and PhD degrees since starting graduate studies in 1943 and is actively involved in scientific research, community service, and environmental development. The faculty also focuses on updating educational methodologies, strengthening faculty capacities, and fostering international scientific cooperation to address food security, food safety, and agricultural challenges in Egypt and beyond.
