Hartenberg
Josefov, Czechia, Czech Republic (Czechia)
Hartenberg is a castle ruin near Hřebeny in the municipality of Josefov, in the Sokolov area of western Czechia.
It began as a medieval fortress in the 13th century, later became a château, and was badly damaged after World War II before being left as a ruin. Today it is being gradually restored by a private owner and can be visited on guided tours, making it one of the region’s more striking rescue-and-revival heritage sites.
