Hlohovský Zámok in Hlohovec, Slovakia, originated as an 11th-century medieval castle first documented in 1113 in the Zobor Charter, strategically positioned on a Slavic fortified settlement overlooking the Váh River and granted to the Abovci family by King Ladislav IV in 1275. Owned by powerful noble families like Ujlaki, Turzo, Forgáč, and Erdödy until 1945, it evolved through Renaissance and Baroque reconstructions, featuring a chapel with a Baroque altar, a unique 1802 Empire-style theater—Slovakia's oldest preserved playhouse—and a grand park with a pond, riding hall, gazebo, and vast plane tree avenue. Now a reconstructed national cultural monument serving cultural and social events, it houses historical exhibits including a medieval relief replica of the Nativity.
