Hronsek Castle in Hronsek, Slovakia, is a Gothic-Renaissance water castle originally built in the 14th century by the Prokop family as a defensive residence and later rebuilt around 1576 with fortifications including a moat, drawbridge, defensive walls, and four corner towers to protect against Turkish invasions. Owned by noble families like Rothovsko-Telekyovský and Géczyovská, it served during the Rákoczi Uprising as a mint for coins and a prison in its cellars, while interiors feature rare 14th-16th century wall paintings of hunting scenes, battles inspired by Leonardo da Vinci and Giorgio Vasari, and biblical motifs like the Sacrifice of Isaac. The structure transitioned to a chapel before the nearby articular wooden church's completion and now stands as a national cultural monument amid ongoing restoration, complementing Hronsek's UNESCO-listed wooden church.
