Humprecht
Sobotka, Czechia, Czech Republic (Czechia)
Humprecht is a distinctive early Baroque hunting castle above Sobotka in the Český ráj region of Czechia, built in 1666–1668 for Count Humprecht Jan Czernin of Chudenice by the Italian architect Carlo Lurago.
Its unusual oval shape and elegant silhouette make it one of the best-known landmarks in the area, and after a lightning-caused fire in 1678 it was repaired and raised by one floor, giving it nearly its present form. Today it is a protected national cultural monument, famous for its scenic views, acoustic hall, and role as a symbol of Český ráj.
