Hurghada Grand Aquarium is a large public aquarium and family attraction in Hurghada, Egypt, located on Safaga Road near the Magawish area of the Red Sea coast. Opened in January 2015, it holds around 3,500 cubic metres of water in 24 galleries and is one of the biggest aquariums in Egypt and the wider Arab world. The site is built around the idea of the “Red Sea in Glass,” showcasing more than 1,200 individual animals across about 100 species, including sharks, rays, a green sea turtle, and many colourful coral‑reef fish. Visitors walk through an underwater tunnel beneath the main ocean tank, explore a rainforest zone, and pass a mini zoo with rescued animals such as monkeys, birds, and reptiles, alongside special exhibits such as a Bedouin life display and a “Whale Valley” inspired by Egyptian fossils. The aquarium runs daily shark‑feeding shows, environmental education programs, and conservation‑focused activities, and it also offers restaurants, a shop, and evening hours, making it a popular full‑day visit for families and tourists in Hurghada.
