Ishëm Castle (Kalaja e Ishmit) is an Ottoman hill fortress located in the village of Ishëm, about 26 km north of Durrës in central Albania, perched on a dominant hill above the Ishëm River valley and offering wide views over the surrounding countryside and towards the Adriatic Sea.

It was built between 1572 and 1574 by order of the Ottoman Sublime Porte as a military stronghold to control roads and trade routes, prevent peasant uprisings in the region, and stop smuggling with the Republic of Venice, and after its completion a Turkish garrison of around 410 soldiers was stationed there.

The fortress has solid stone walls up to 1.2–1.5 meters thick and about 7 meters high, arranged in a roughly rectangular plan with corner towers and defensive elements typical of 16th-century Ottoman military architecture, and it was designed not only for defense but also as a visible symbol of Ottoman authority over the local population.

Declared a First Category Cultural Monument, the castle fell into ruin over the centuries and was damaged by the 2019 earthquake, but it has been restored and consolidated under the EU4Culture program, making it accessible and illuminated for visitors again.
