Jardín Botánico de Valencia (Jardí Botànic de la Universitat de València) is a historic university botanical garden located on Calle Quart near the old Turia riverbed, functioning as a “living museum” of plants within the city’s historic centre.

Its origins go back to a medicinal plant garden founded in 1567, and since 1802 it has occupied its current 4‑hectare site, where avenues, ponds, greenhouses and an iron-and-glass conservatory structure create a varied, shaded landscape.

Today the garden maintains roughly 3,000–5,000 plant species from all five continents, with notable collections of palms, cacti and other succulents, tropical and aquatic plants, Mediterranean trees and shrubs, and a seed and spore bank, all supporting its roles in research, conservation, teaching and public education. 

Open daily with modest entry fees, it offers residents, students and visitors an accessible green oasis where they can walk among labelled collections, learn about plant diversity and history, and enjoy a calm space in the heart of Valencia.
