Kaštieľ / Múzeum historických hodín
Budimír, Slovakia, Slovakia
Kaštieľ v Budimíre, also known as the Museum of Historical Clocks, is a classicist Theresian-style manor house built in the second third of the 18th century near Košice in eastern Slovakia, originally serving as the residence for the Ujházy noble family. The two-story, three-tract building with a nine-axis main facade and a triangular pediment featuring a sculpted coat of arms underwent interior modifications in 1812 and was partially used as a school before reconstruction from 1985 by the Slovak Technical Museum, opening to the public in 1990 with its first exhibit. Set within a French-style park, it now houses a specialized collection of timepieces spanning centuries, including sundials, clocks, and watches, alongside preserved vaults and Empire-era wall paintings that evoke its aristocratic past.
