Malecón Botanical Garden (Jardín Botánico del Malecón) is a historic urban garden in the city of Murcia, created in the mid‑19th century (around 1845) beside the Paseo del Malecón, a raised embankment along the Segura River that originally served as a flood-control wall.

Conceived as a teaching garden for agriculture and natural history, it evolved into a public green space where paths, an artificial lake, lawns and play areas weave among collections of trees, shrubs and seasonal plantings, including Mediterranean and some exotic species, while also preserving features such as a decorative stone gateway from the former Huerto de las Bombas estate.

Today the garden forms part of a larger riverside park and is used both for quiet recreation and for cultural events, especially during Murcia’s September fair, providing residents and visitors with a shaded, plant-rich retreat only a short walk from the historic centre.
