Mazyr Castle, located in the city of Mazyr (Mozyr) in the Gomel Region of Belarus, is actually a modern reconstructed wooden fortress built on the historic Castle Hill above the Pripyat River.

The original medieval wooden castle here dates back to the 15th century but was repeatedly damaged and finally destroyed in the 17th century, leaving no authentic structures standing. In 2005, as part of celebrations for the city’s 850th anniversary, a decorative wooden replica of the old stronghold was erected on the same site, now also known as the Hill of the Communards.

Today, Mazyr Castle functions as a small historical and tourist complex, housing part of the Mozyr Local History Museum, hosting occasional festivals and medieval‑style events, and serving as a popular viewpoint and recreational spot for residents and visitors.
