Nové Hrady Castle
Nové Hrady, Czechia, Czech Republic (Czechia)
Nové Hrady Castle is a large medieval castle in South Bohemia, first built in the 13th century to guard an important trade route and later rebuilt several times after wars, fire, and other damage.
It is especially known for its strong fortifications, two entrance gates, and a wide circular moat that still gives it a very distinctive look. Today the castle is open to visitors and shows both its noble history and the later Baroque changes made under the Buquoy family.
