Real Jardín Botánico Alfonso XIII is the botanical garden of the Complutense University of Madrid, located in the Ciudad Universitaria campus between the Faculties of Pharmacy and Biology.

Covering about 5 hectares (around 50,000 square metres), it contains more than 800–1,000 plant species arranged in specialised collections, including Spanish regional flora, conifer and pine plantings, riparian and wetland vegetation, and a teaching vegetable garden, making it a “living laboratory” for students and researchers.

Conceived in a 1927 campus plan promoted by King Alfonso XIII but inaugurated in its current form in 2001, the garden focuses on education, conservation, and public outreach in botany and environmental studies, with free weekday entry and schedules that vary slightly by season.
