It is believed to have been built by Charles IV. in the 14th century as part of the defense of nearby Karlštejn, and today only a few wall fragments and a ditch with earthworks survive. The site is protected as a cultural monument and is closely linked to local nature and walking routes, making it a quiet historical stop rather than a large ruin complex.
