Saint Elisabeth's Cathedral in Košice is the largest church in Slovakia and one of the easternmost Gothic cathedrals in Europe. Built between the late 14th and early 16th centuries, it dominates the city’s main square and is considered one of the finest examples of Gothic architecture in Central Europe. Dedicated to Saint Elizabeth of Hungary, the cathedral is renowned for its richly decorated interior, historic altars, stained-glass windows, and rare Gothic artworks. Among its treasures are the impressive main altar of St. Elizabeth and a unique double-spiral staircase, one of only a few surviving examples in Europe. Today, Saint Elisabeth's Cathedral serves as the seat of the Archdiocese of Košice and remains one of Slovakia’s most important religious, historical, and cultural landmarks, attracting visitors from around the world.
