Teide National Park is the largest and oldest national park in the Canary Islands. It is located in the center of Tenerife and is famous for its dramatic volcanic landscapes. The park is named after Mount Teide, a volcano that rises to 3,718 meters and is the highest peak in Spain. This site is one of the top natural wonders in the country and an important symbol for the island of Tenerife.

The park covers an area of about 19,000 hectares. Its landscape is filled with striking features, such as volcanoes, craters, strange rock formations, and lava flows. The centerpiece, Mount Teide, is impressive and can be seen from almost everywhere on the island. The park also includes Pico Viejo, the second highest volcano in the Canary Islands. Las Cañadas del Teide, a vast caldera, surrounds these peaks and is famous for its rugged beauty and unusual geological forms.

Teide National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site because of its unique geological and ecological features. It was declared a national park in 1954 and given world heritage status in 2007. The park supports many rare plant species, including the Teide violet, which only grows above 2,400 meters, and the red bugloss, which colors the mountainsides in spring. There are more than 200 species of plants and a wide range of animals, such as insects, lizards, and several types of birds.
