Torre Loizaga
Spain, Spain
Torre Loizaga is a medieval tower-turned-museum in Galdames, Biscay province, Basque Country, Spain, originally built in the 14th century as a defensive fortress by the Ochoa García de Loyzaga family during clan wars.
Falling into ruins over centuries, it was meticulously rebuilt starting in 1985 by local businessman and car collector Miguel de la Vía, who recreated its 25-meter stone walls, battlements, moat, drawbridge, and palatial rooms to house Europe's largest Rolls-Royce collection alongside other classic automobiles from the early 20th century onward.
Nestled amid stunning mountain landscapes 30 kilometers from Bilbao, the site blends Basque feudal history with automotive heritage, offering guided tours, events, and a unique fusion of medieval architecture and mechanical innovation.
