Vieux Fort Lighthouse at Moule-a-Chique

Vieux Fort, Saint Lucia

---

The Vieux Fort Lighthouse, also known as the Moule-à-Chique Lighthouse, stands on the dramatic Moule-à-Chique headland above Vieux Fort at the southern tip of Saint Lucia.

Built in 1912, it is perched more than 220 meters above sea level, making it one of the highest lighthouse sites in the Caribbean and a prominent landmark for ships navigating nearby waters. The lighthouse is best known for its breathtaking panoramic views, where visitors can see both the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea, along with the coastline of southern Saint Lucia and, on clear days, the island of Saint Vincent.

Although the lighthouse itself is mainly viewed from the outside, the surrounding viewpoint is a popular attraction for photographers, hikers, and travelers seeking some of the island’s most spectacular scenery. Its peaceful setting, ocean breezes, and sweeping vistas make it one of the standout viewpoints in Saint Lucia.
