The Wooden Church of Kožuchovce, also known as the Church of St. Nicholas, is a historic Greek Catholic wooden church originally built in 1741 in the village of Kožuchovce in eastern Slovakia. To preserve this valuable example of traditional folk architecture, it was carefully dismantled and moved to Košice in 1927, where it now stands in the grounds of the East Slovak Museum. Constructed mainly of wood and designed in the traditional three-part layout typical of Carpathian wooden churches, it features a richly decorated interior with religious murals and folk artwork. The church is recognized as an important cultural monument and offers visitors insight into the religious and architectural heritage of eastern Slovakia. Today, the Wooden Church of Kožuchovce is one of Košice’s most distinctive historical attractions, preserving a rare example of 18th-century wooden church architecture for future generations.
