Yolyn Am Valley, also known as Eagle Valley or the “Valley of the Vultures,” is a dramatic mountain gorge located within Gobi Gurvansaikhan National Park in Umnugovi Province, Mongolia.

Despite being in the Gobi Desert, the valley is known for its cool climate, towering rock walls, and narrow canyon carved through the mountains. One of its most remarkable features is a seasonal ice field that can remain frozen well into summer because sunlight rarely reaches the deepest parts of the gorge. This unusual combination of desert surroundings and lingering ice makes the valley one of Mongolia’s most unique natural attractions.

The valley is also rich in wildlife, including bearded vultures, ibex, argali sheep, and other mountain species. Visitors come to enjoy hiking, photography, and the spectacular scenery of steep cliffs, streams, and diverse landscapes that reveal a very different side of the Gobi Desert.
