Zámek Hovězí
Hovězí, Czechia, Czech Republic (Czechia)
Zámek Hovězí is a small Baroque château located in the village of Hovězí near Vsetín in eastern Czechia.
It was built in the late 17th and early 18th centuries as the residence of a local estate and was later completed by the Ledeničtí z Ledenic family. Over the years, the building served many different purposes, including an administrative center, a hospital during cholera outbreaks, a workshop connected to furniture production, a police station, municipal offices, and residential housing.
Although modest in size, the château has an interesting history that reflects the development of the surrounding Wallachian region. After periods of decline, it underwent renovation in the late 20th and early 21st centuries. Today, Zámek Hovězí is privately owned and not open to the public. It mainly serves residential purposes but remains a notable historical landmark in the center of the village.
