Arten is a small village in the municipality of Fonzaso, in the Belluno province of Italy’s Veneto region, nestled in the scenic valley area near Feltre and the Dolomites.

Home to around 900 residents, it sits at an elevation of about 300 meters and is surrounded by mountains, rivers, and countryside landscapes. The village has ancient roots dating back to prehistoric and Roman times, with archaeological discoveries suggesting human settlement in the area since the Bronze Age.

Its strategic location led to the construction of defensive structures during the late Roman and Byzantine periods, highlighting its historical importance.
