The Association Rocca Albornoziana is linked to the Rocca Albornoziana, the impressive medieval fortress that dominates the hill above Spoleto in Umbria, Italy.

Built in the 14th century under the direction of Cardinal Egidio Albornoz, the fortress was created to strengthen papal authority and control over central Italy. Designed as both a military stronghold and an elegant residence, the fortress served as the seat of papal governors and hosted notable figures, including Lucrezia Borgia. It later functioned as a prison for more than a century before being restored.

Today, the Rocca Albornoziana is one of Spoleto’s most important landmarks, housing the National Museum of the Duchy of Spoleto and offering spectacular views over the city and surrounding valley. Its massive towers, courtyards, and historic halls make it a remarkable example of medieval architecture and Italian history.
