Boffalora Castle is a historic fortress located on a hill near Agazzano in the Piacenza countryside, where it overlooks important routes between the Po Valley and the Apennines.

First documented in 1412, it was originally built as a military stronghold before being transformed over the centuries into a noble residence. Its history is marked by changing ownership, family rivalries, and dramatic events involving murders, inheritances, and political disputes.

The castle has a distinctive rectangular layout with five towers, a fortified keep, elegant loggias, and richly decorated halls featuring frescoes and coffered ceilings. Although now privately owned and in need of restoration, it remains one of the most striking landmarks in the Piacenza hills, admired for its medieval architecture, panoramic setting, and fascinating history.
