The Cartagena Botanical Garden Guillermo Piñeres is a renowned 9-hectare (approximately 22-acre) botanical sanctuary located in the hills above Cartagena at about 100 meters above sea level in the municipality of Turbaco, Bolívar Department, Colombia, just 15 minutes from Cartagena city.

Founded nearly 50 years ago, the garden was established on land originally gifted by the family of Guillermo Piñeres to protect native flora and fauna, and it is now managed by COMFENALCO, a family welfare fund, serving as a leader in research and conservation of biodiversity in Colombia's Caribbean region.

The garden is organized by climate and places of origin, featuring over 300 plant species including giant wild cashew trees, white figs, Spanish cedar, Cuban king palms, desert specimens, ornamentals, and fruit trees like papaya and mango, alongside diverse habitats with meandering brooks and streams that create a lush oasis of forest and water.

Visitors can encounter delightful wildlife inhabitants such as howler monkeys, iguanas, frogs, sloths, butterflies, and army ants, while marveling at a kaleidoscope of colorful flowers, trees, plants, and cacti that make this small but gorgeous place an amazing green spot for nature enthusiasts, photographers, and anyone seeking serenity.
