Jardín Botánico de Cali is a 30-acre botanical garden located in western Cali, Colombia, founded in 2001 to promote conservation, research, and environmental education about the flora of Valle del Cauca department. Situated just one kilometer from the city zoo along the Cali River watershed, the garden features 12 stations built with organic materials spread across tropical forest, where visitors can walk an 800-meter path surrounded by native species and observe natural processes like flower pollination. The garden houses more than 190 plant species, with a special focus on conserving the rare tropical dry forest ecosystem, food security, and essential ecosystem services. Renovated in 2017 by the Fundación Zoológica de Cali, it offers educational programs, workshops, and recreational activities for the community while promoting sustainability, and visitors typically spend 2 to 3 hours exploring its unpaved, irregular trails.
