CastelBrando
Cison di Valmarino, Province of Treviso, Italy, Italy
CastelBrando is a historic hilltop castle overlooking the village of Cison di Valmarino in the Province of Treviso.
Its origins date back to Roman times, when it served as a fortress guarding important routes between northern Italy and the Alpine regions. Over nearly two thousand years, it evolved from a military stronghold into a grand noble residence. During the Middle Ages, the castle was expanded by influential families such as the Da Camino and later the Brandolini family, from whom it takes its current name.
Successive renovations added towers, battlements, and elegant architectural features, reflecting both its defensive role and its status as a prestigious residence. Today, CastelBrando is one of the largest and most impressive castles in Italy. Carefully restored, it houses a hotel, museum areas, restaurants, wellness facilities, and event spaces, while offering spectacular views of the surrounding Prosecco Hills and the Venetian pre-Alps.
