Castello di Gabiano is a historic castle overlooking the Po Valley in the village of Gabiano, in the Province of Alessandria, Piedmont.

Its origins date back to the 9th century, when it was established as a fortified site controlling important trade routes along the Po River, making it one of the oldest castles in the Monferrato region. Over the centuries, the castle was owned by several powerful ruling dynasties of Monferrato, including the Paleologi and Gonzaga families, before passing to the Durazzo family in the 17th century.

The Durazzo family helped transform it into an elegant noble residence while also developing the estate’s long-standing winemaking tradition. Today, Castello di Gabiano is renowned for its impressive architecture, landscaped grounds, vineyards, and panoramic views of the surrounding hills. Combining medieval heritage with wine culture and beautiful scenery, it is considered one of the most notable historic estates in the Monferrato area.
