Castello di Monteventano is a medieval fortress located on a steep hilltop in the Val Luretta area near Piozzano, in the province of Piacenza.

Dating to around the 10th or 11th century, it occupied a strategic position controlling the valley route and worked alongside nearby fortifications to monitor movement through the area. The castle was involved in several medieval conflicts, including attacks by Emperor Frederick Barbarossa’s forces and later by troops led by Ubertino Landi.

Although much of the original complex has been altered over time, significant remains survive, including sections of the defensive walls, a monumental circular tower about 30 meters high, traces of the drawbridge entrance, and adjacent historic buildings. Restored in recent decades, the castle remains an impressive landmark overlooking the rolling hills and vineyards of the Piacenza countryside.
