Castello di Valdengo is a medieval fortress complex located in Valdengo, Italy, dating back to between the 11th and 12th centuries.

Originally built as a defensive stronghold, the castle evolved into a vast and intricate complex resembling a village more than a single castle. It includes a fortified enclosure with walls and towers that once protected the noble residences within.

From the 15th century onward, the castle served as the seat of the powerful Avogadro family of Biella, shifting from a military fortress to a residential estate for various noble lineages, including the Ferrero-Fieschi and Dal Pozzo families. Key remnants of the original structure, such as the watchtower, entrance gate, and parts of the defensive walls, remain incorporated into later residential buildings.

The castle complex features a chapel dedicated to Saints Eusebius, Anthony, and Catherine, adorned with 14th-century frescoes attributed to the Master of Oropa. Although privately owned, its historical significance as a regional landmark testifies to Valdengo’s medieval past and noble heritage.
