The Castle of l'Estriverie in Lessines, Belgium, dates back to at least the 13th century and was originally a fortified house surrounded by a moat.

Throughout its history, the estate changed hands multiple times, including ownership by the Despretz de Quievrain family and later the Cottrel family, who held the castle for seven generations starting in the late 15th century. The Cottrel family was responsible for much of the castle’s restoration and rebuilding, shaping its current appearance. Initially built for defense, the castle evolved into a stately residence reflecting changes in architecture and local noble life over centuries.

Positioned strategically in the Hainaut region, the castle remains a notable historic landmark, embodying the heritage and architectural transitions from medieval fortifications to a noble estate in the Belgian countryside.​
