The Castle of Walferdange (Château de Walferdange) is a historic palace in central Luxembourg that was originally built between 1824 and 1828 by King William I of the Netherlands, who was also Grand Duke of Luxembourg.

It began as a royal stud farm for breeding horses before being converted into a royal residence by his son, William II. The castle was significantly expanded by Prince Henry of the Netherlands and his wife Amalia, who lived there from 1853 and helped make it an important royal residence. Later, Grand Duke Adolphe used it as a summer residence and refurbished both the building and its surrounding park.

During the 20th century, the castle served a variety of purposes, including a hospital, teacher-training college, military barracks, and educational institute. More recently, it was part of the University of Luxembourg and today houses departments of Luxembourg’s Ministry of National Education, making it both a historic landmark and an active public institution.
