Arena Po is a small town in the Oltrepò Pavese area of Lombardy, located on the right bank of the Po River near the border with the province of Piacenza.

Its history dates back at least to the 10th century, and its strategic position along important river trade routes made it a significant fortified settlement during the Middle Ages. The town was long contested by powerful neighboring cities and noble families, including the Beccaria, Visconti, and Sanseverino dynasties.

Thanks to its strong fortifications and control of a key crossing point on the Po, it successfully resisted several medieval sieges. Today, Arena Po is known for its historic atmosphere, riverside setting, and architectural landmarks, including the medieval Beccaria Castle and the Church of San Giorgio. Surrounded by the rural landscapes of the Po Valley, it offers a blend of history, culture, and traditional Lombard charm.
